ATTACK!! ATTACK!!! The angry birds are here to attack!!

With angry birds games being such a hit in the ipad and iphone market, no doubt every kids would want to own one of the cute little birds. Be it a plush toy, a character cake or even the game itself, any angry birds merchandize would be one special gift on their birthday.

My friend requested for angry bird cake for his nephew's birthday and here is the surprise for the little boy's 3rd birthday. 

My niece too been asking for an angry bird. So not wanting to break the little girl's heart, I created a mini sculptured cake to surprise her. I love the little pig being crushed by the big and angry bird!!

Mid Autumn Festival - Mom's Homemade Mooncake Jelly

I am already in the mood of celebrating Mid Autumn Festival or Zhongqiu Festival even though it is still a month to go. The festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eight month of Chinese Calendar and this year it falls on 12th September when the moon is at it's roundest. The traditional delicacy for this occasion is mooncake - a thin tender skin enveloping a sweet dense filling of normally red bean or lotus paste and contain a whole salted egg yolks in its center.

Nowadays mooncakes is celebrated with a twist - Mooncake jellies. My mom is now busy in her little kitchen preparing the jellies of assorted flavors with fresh fruits fillings - strawberry, mango, kiwi, honeydew & durian. A box would consist of 4 flavors and a little surprise in the center, a jelly yolk to symbolize the full moon!

Today is my little cheeky's birthday!

My cheeky little nephew turns 6 today. Knowing that he is so into Angry Birds, I gave him a surprise birthday gift full of Angry Birds and Pigs on a cinnamon cream cheese roll cake.

He gave me a ring to thank me for the cake and told me that he is going to wait till his mummy is back from work before cutting the cake. But it seems that the birds and pigs did not survive long (at least till their parents are back from work) as it all ended up in their little tummies. Half of the cake managed to last till later on though *grin*

My Birthday Gift II

Another year to add on to my "age" bank.

I had a wonderful birthday this year...cakes, lunches and lots of catching with the girls from my previous office. Adding on to my collection are these two me two very special gift from them and I am loving it to bits. Thank you to all my dearest! You girls really made my day!

Lollipops or is it cakes? Well, these lovelies are the best of both worlds! They are Cake Pops, a bite size cakes on sticks.

Aren’t them just the lovelies treat for any occasion?! No mess, no fuss. All you need is just pop one into your mouth!

Apple Cheese Tart

Question: What do you do when you got too much apples in storage?
Answer: Bake something out of it obviously.

Honestly I am not much a fan of any apple dessert but I got way too much apples in stock. I Google up to find out what I can do with the excess apples and when I found a recipe for apple tart, I thought I should give it a try. What actually attractted me was the added cream cheese fillings. Not only that the recipe is so simple and straightforward, I am, in fact am falling in love with the taste too! Two slices for me is just ain’t enough! Mmmm…mmmmm….

Corporate Cake: Kurnia Insurance

I was given the honor to bake a cake for a corporate event. The company is celebrating its 20th Anniversary - a milestone that certainly calls for celebrations!

There was no specific designs requested for the cake except for the corporate blue and the company logo. The rest is just up to me!
